I have many memories of Valentine’s Day spent with my husband. There were always cards, serious or funny, but always heartwarming. We often had dinner out and occasionally there would be flowers.
But one memory stands out above the others. I don’t even remember if this happened on Valentine’s Day, but it certainly meant “love” to me. We were having dinner at home. It was probably one of those meals that Wayne had finished. I sometimes would set the crockpot to cook the main dish and he would complete the meal with a veggie or salad. In any case, as we finished our meal, he reached to the other side of the table and brought up a plate of chocolate covered strawberries he had hidden on the chair.
Yes, I could tell they were homemade, but he proceeded to tell me he had bought the special chocolate to melt And how he had a little trouble getting it to stick just right. They looked beautiful and delicious to me! It was a wonderful surprise! A surprise we both enjoyed. It’s also a precious memory to me.
God has surprised me a few times as I noticed things in Nature. I once found a heart-shaped potato. Another almost heart-shape, opening in the clouds. And my favorite, a heart-shaped strawberry one of my students from many years ago showed me before she ate it for a snack. (Apologies for the poor photo. I had to take a picture of the picture since I couldn’t figure out how to save it from a video.)

I hope God will surprise you with something to remind you of how much He loves you. We treasure our loved ones here on Earth, but without God’s love we are lost. I like what 1 John 3:1 says:
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day!
