Encouragement for Life

“The horse is made ready for the day of battle,

but victory rests with the Lord” 

(Proverbs 21:31). 

When I read this verse recently, I was reminded of our political landscape.  Our Nation, as our Founders envisioned it, is slipping away. There are people winning elections that do not love our country and the principles on which it was founded. The government schools have indoctrinated our students to ideologies that go against our Judaic Christian faith. And now those students are voting. So we have some cities being run by mayors who do not govern by law and order, but by communist ideas.

If we are to save our freedoms and our constitution we must act.  We must “prepare the horse for battle” and trust God for the victory. Election season is upon us. Most primaries have already happened. If you did not vote, please reassess your thinking and prepare to vote in the mid-term November election. But before you vote, get to know the candidates. Listen to what they say, see what they have already done, find out as much as possible about them and what they stand for.  

A good source of information about candidates is iVoterguide.com. This is a faith-based organization and it has church resources available to share with your church. Christians must utilize their voting privilege. Encourage your friends to vote. This is not the time to do nothing. Freedom is at stake. 

Another part of ‘preparing the horse for battle” is prayer. There is a prayer guide at iVoterguide.com which is found under “Church Resources.” Print it out and share it with your church, small group, or anyone who will accept it. We must pray. 

Only God knows what will happen in our Nation, but that doesn’t mean we do nothing. Let’s pay attention to what is happening, be informed, pray, and vote. Let your voice be heard.  Remember Esther had to go before the king in order to save her people. Moses had to return to Egypt in order to bring his people out of bondage. God brought the victory, but Esther and Moses acted.  What is God calling you to do?
